We have offices located in Marion, Lake, Citrus, Hernando and Sumter Counties. Classes offered are often required either by the court or the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Some classes are taken on a voluntary basis. Class dates and times vary in order to accommodate schedules. Many instances occur in which one’s license may be reinstated by DHSMV by showing proof of enrollment in an approved course.
WCFDI has provided programs and services to these communities for over 25 years. We pride ourselves in efficient communication with the court and the DHSMV regarding student compliance with requirements.
Please feel free to contact us with any additional needs you may have that may not be referenced in this page.

8 Hour Intermediate Driver Improvement Course (On Line, Only!)
Students would select this option ONLY if they have been ordered by a Florida court to attend an 8-hour traffic course. This course is not intended to address court ordered attendance of an Aggressive Driving or DWLSR (Driving While License Suspended/Revoked) course. Finally, as the state of Florida does not directly regulate 8-hour courses, we encourage students to secure acceptance of this online 8-hour course by the court with jurisdiction over their case prior to beginning the course.

The program is held in the classroom at West Central Florida Driver Improvement locations. It is open for DUI offenders (or those whose DUI has been amended to reckless driving); aggressive drivers; teenagers and first time drivers; Teen Court participants or any other individual who would like to learn the impact of their attitude on the driving task and the lives of others who may be injured or killed by their choice to drive recklessly or under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. A portion of the fee is donated to local Impaired Driving Education and Victim Services (IDEAVS) organization for training and assistance with victims throughout the Fifth Judicial Circuit.
$30.00
Ignition Interlock Device (IID)
Some DUI offenders are required to have this device placed on their vehicle in order to have a driver license reinstated. Once this device is placed on the vehicle, any violations of this device may result in a requirement to attend a scheduled appointment with the licensed DUI Program in their area. Second violation may result in the requirement to have monthly appointments with a DUI Program for the duration of the restriction period.
